Hello Brothers and Sisters! This forum just went live at the beginning of the FY09 "Transition Season" and I'm looking for some folks to drop in and start some conversation! In an effort to get some discussions going, I am offering a free Navy Chief Car Magnet to the next 15 people who post a message on the forum. Don't just post "Hi everyone" and expect to get a free magnet... you have to post something of substance...whether it's news or information that you want to pass on to the Mess or a good CPO joke or just a general introduction to let us know who you are.

Hi Mike. Welcome to the forum! Once an FC, always an FC! I started working with the software side of the AEGIS weapon system which required learning Unix, C++, etc... I have since branched out to work on my own business online (ALL-IN Enterprises, LLC - established January 2005) wherein I have tailored multiple databases, shopping cart systems and coded my way to having things the way I want them. I have learned from the school of hard knocks along the way. Here are a few of the things that I am currently working on. All of these sites were built by me and are being fully maintained by me in every way including site maintenance, upgrades, order processing, customer service, etc... This site, fouledanchor.org http://allin-enterprises.com (Parent company) http://all-in-general.com (AIG Outdoors - My first eCommerce site) AIG Outdoors Directory (Outdoors Link Directory) http://maglitesales.com (Second eCommerce site (Maglite Flashlights)) http://discountfishtackle.com (Third eCommerce site (Fishing Tackle)) http://gofishingforum.net (Fishing and Outdoors Forum) Go Fishing Forum Ocean Tide Predictionhttp://findafishingcharter.com (Fishing Charter Link Directory) http://krnlpanic.com (my first site, circa 1998 or so, I think...I don't work on this much anymore..it's a nice reference though)

I think I messed that one up. I saw JCW's post and thought the Vicksburg was at the top of his post. Must be going blind as I didn't notice the space between the two emails. Guess it comes with age.

haha well, I almost asked you if that was a trick question because I wasn't sure where it was headed...but I felt like rambling, so I did... I guess I was thinking more like "How did an *IT* become an FC"...oh well...moving on, then.
I guess I should look at making separate posts a little more easily discernable.

Hello SIGZ, That's a good question. I'm glad you asked. The CPO license plate is not a "Revenue Sharing" type license plate. If it were, then the registration fee would be $25.00 instead of $10 for a non-personalized plate and add $10.00 if personalized. The CPO plate is a non-revenue sharing as outlined in paragraph 1.A. in the document link below. VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES NEW SPECIAL LICENSE PLATE DEVELOPMENTI hope this answers your question. Please let me know if you have any other questions, as I'm more than happy to help! Please pass the word about the license plate so we can meet our goal! Send me a PM or an email with your mailing address and I'll get a magnet in the mail for you.

I'd like to personally thank Rick and Armand for all their efforts in getting the CPO License Plate intiative rolling. I encourage all to spread the word to their borthers and sisters in the CPO community about this intiative and don't delay on getting their forms and fees paid. These guys have worked too hard to let this chance slip by!

Rick, What a great site and the license plate is an outstanding way to honor all who served thier great country. I would be honored and proud to display this CPO plate on my vehicle and hope this will get passed. I don't see why it wouldn't. I reside in VA. Beach and am very proud to have served my country and achieve the rank of Senior Chief. I'm very proud of our CPO community here VA. Beach. Rick keep up the good work your doing. Cliff, generally, magnetizing requires rubbing - and I'm just not gonna go there. However, I suppose a good amount of electric current might do the trick.. got wire?

Rick, I just picked up HMC this year and I'm stoked and ready to lead such a fine group of sailors. I would love to have one of the magnets if you have any left. I look forward to the fellowship and encouragement from the Mess. Merry Christmas and have a safe and Happy New Year.

Hey, All!
This is my first excursion into the forum...Looks like the magnet "attracted" my attention, too! Hope you got one left for my little truck, Rick! I'm a retired EMC (SS/SW), converted from MTC (SS). Retired in '95 in Virginia Beach, and I work at Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding since '97. Life is good!
How are we doing on the license plate inititative? I think a couple of my co-workers have applied, and I'm in there too. Are we gonna make it?
Everybody have a very merry Christmas, a happy Hannakuh and a Happy and prosperous New Year.

Here are the two who are definitely getting one: Sandman boatsmike771 I owe one to an old buddy, Jerry - I told him he was getting one in the last batch - I was on travel and totally forgot about it. Grretings from Spokane Wa. and Merry Christmas Shipmates!
Found this site when I was looking for a little Navy history. Any time I see fouled anchor seems to give me a flashback.
Awesome looking magnets...I would proudly display one on my vehicle.
