Here is an email I received from Delegate Pollard's office regarding the CPO license plate after they asked me how many prepaids we have and I replied "approximately 105"
Mr. Sandlin,
I shared with Delegate Pollard your group's status, and he asked that I convey to you that he will not be putting in a bill this year for the license plate. Having previously worked on a license plate bill for his own mother's organization (unsuccessfully the first time), he recognizes that unless you have at least 300 prepaid applications, the bill won't even make it out of subcommittee.
However, he would like to revisit the matter next September to see where you are with the numbers then so we may possibly put in legislation for next year's session. If your group is making significant progress towards obtaining the 350 minimum needed, then we should be able to get a bill passed in 2011.
Also, we have spoken with Delegate Barlow and he has agreed to co-patron the measure once we are able to go forward.
Thank you and please keep us posted of your progress.
Sincerely,
Carmen Bingham
