Navy Chief 1893 Cigars

Postby krnl on 17 Dec 2008, 19:03

Today, I learned about some really nice cigars with an 1893 Navy Chief logo on them. I spoke with the former ET1 that runs the site and has the cigars and lighters for sale.

Tell Cliff that you learned about his cigars at FouledAnchor.org!

The cigars are $110.00 per box with free USPS shipping anywhere in the United States, regardless of the number of boxes you order.

Here is the description of the cigars from their site. Click the description to visit their site

"This high quality cigar comes in Churchill (7" x 50 ring gauge) with Nicaraguan filler and binder. The 1893 is available in five wrappers: Connecticut Shade from Ecuador (mild), Indonesian Sumatra (light medium), Costa Rican Maduro (medium), African Cameroon (heavy medium), and Nicaraguan Sun Grown Corojo (fuller bodied). Other sizes, Toro (6") and Robusto (5"), are available by request."

Here is the Zippo lighter. You can get them for $15.00 each with the purchase of a box of cigars. You can also get the lighter personalized with laser engraving!

and finally, here is a link to their site. Tell them Rick at FouledAnchor.org sent you!

You can also order a "Sampler Pack" which includes one cigar with each wrapper (five cigars) for $28.00.

Rick,

These are really good cigars! I was at the unveiling of the cigars back in August 2006 at Cliff's shop in Houston. I just recently bought another box of cigars from him. While I've smoked all five wrappers, the Maduro is my favorite, with the Sumatra as a close second.

He can also laser engrave the top of the cigar box if requested. I think he charges $5 for laser engraving. When I go home for lunch today I will post the images of the ones he did for me.

When MCPON Campa came out to Guam as the guest speaker at our 2008 Khaki Ball, I invited him outside to smoke an 1893. He had a Maduro.

Excellent story! :) I think I'm going to have a contest of some sort here in the forum for a free "Sampler pack" of these 1893 cigars. Got any ideas for the contest? It needs to be something that will get a few folks to post...

Rick,

Tell you what, I had two different coins made with the 1893. Cliff purchased the other one that had his website address on the bottom.

I will donate 10 of my coins towards any contest you want to set up as well.

Here is my coin. I usually sell these for $9.99 on eBay:

Here is the coin that Cliff had made. I may still have some of these lurking about:

I also have mouse pads ($7) and refrigerator magnets ($1) that I would gladly donate towards any contest:

Here are a few other items I have:
CPO Mug ($5):

1893 Flights ($4):

CPO 100th Anniversary ($7):

I also have a few CPO buckles left ($30/$35 & $60/$65):

The CPO buckles are authorized to wear in uniform.

If I can find my stash of mini-tabasco bottles, I'd definitely donate some of those:

With all that stuff you have... maybe we should start an online store! :) Here are a couple of stores I currently run...

http://www.maglitesales.com

http://www.all-in-general.com

Really though...I wouldn't dream of taking anything from you for nothing. I'm going to look it over and see what I can do to engineer a trade for the Growler/Pint Glass. Sound good?
