I can't believe that with the size of the CPO community in Virginia that we couldn't get this done. I'm tired of messing with it. I've lost a lot of faith in the CPO community. It seems that today's CPO's are not of the same mindset as the Chiefs that I grew up with. I'm more than a little pissed off about the WASTED time and effort involved in this, not only by me, but by several of our brothers and sisters. You all should be ashamed of yourselves.

I will be working on getting money refunded for all of the applications that I currently have in hand. If you believe that I owe you money, please let me know by emailing me at rick@vgof.net and I'll verify your information and send you a refund via PayPal. I don't want to hear any bitching when this is all said and done about how anyone "stole" you money (I've heard similar complaints about past efforts to get this done). My intent is to give money back to each and every person who has provided me with payment and registration info.

The Chief Petty Officer Scholarship Fund (CPOSF) has started a drive of their own. I hope that they have better luck. Their plate is a revenue sharing plate, so it costs a little more, but the extra funds are used to help support the CPOSF.

Thank you for all of your efforts. This is such a shame. I can not understand why in the heck this didn't go through years ago. The only thing I can think of is that it did not get the advertising it should have or the CPO community is as you stated, in which case, I am embarrassed. The world's largest Navy Base is in Virginia and I have heard that there are CPO plates in other states. They must have pass those plates long ago when a mess was a real mess.

It's a damn shame 350 Chief's could not make this happen. Thanks to all who tried and supported this effort. I'll look a the CPOSF attempt. I would be curious how many support that that would not support this.

That's more than I had in over 3 years working on it. They have a much larger network than I, so hopefully, they can get it done.

We don't have an "official" CPO license plate in Wisconsin, but my "unofficial" version has a fouled anchor decal affixed to my Retired Navy personalized plate. "Where there's a will, there's a Chief."
