Ahoy, All! Mike from Va. Beach here. How is the "pre-registration" for the VA CPO License plate coming? Does anyone know? I was a bit confused when I saw that the bill had "not passed committee". Does this mean we're out of luck, or can we still pull it off? Someone give an old man a clue here! Mke sends.

Hi MIke,
We are gathering pre-registrations so that we can re-submit the bill in Spring 2009. It did not pass last year due to the pre-registration quota not being reached.
I will put a note on the hb-1344 page that indicates that we're pre-registering for submission of the bill in Spring 2009.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks Brother! Rick

Thanks for the "heads up", Rick! I'll be sure to add my name to the list of "pre-registerees" (is that a word!?!?) Mike sends

I guess you can consider yourself a pre-registeree and call it a word now! Here's the most up-to date status of the plate drive... I update this post with each new pre-registeree discussion/virginia-1344-status-tracking-t17.html

I checked the "status" on the site. Is it true there are only 11 registrations??? I would have thought with all the CPO's, both active and reserve, through out the state of VA this would have been a done easy deal. Anyway, my nickel. Paid via paypal and registration paperwork will be in the mail tomorrow. Dorri VA

Hello Dorri, We just started getting the word out about this in the past month or so. Would appreciate anything you can do to assist with getting the word out. I agree that this should be an easy thing to accomplish...especially since Virginia is home to the largest Naval Base in the world. Will keep my eyes open for your registration form.

Every time I see this I want to register, but I have never gotten a straight answer to a question I have... Can I keep my current custom license plate letters when I register? I don't want to change it... On a side note... I don't know too many Dorri's in the world... Let alone Virginia! Could that be Dorrie from 78? Joe From 78 and the TCPOA Tis the season to make new chiefs!

Joe - you can keep your current personalized plate by doing a transfer on the registration form instead of registering for a new plate. However, also know that the CPO plate will only be capable of holding 6 digits. So, the fee for the personalized plate is $21.00 - payable via PayPal, then fill out your registration form, sign it and mail it to me. CPO License Plates - all the info you needLet me know if you have any other questions or comments.
