Chief Petty Officer License Plate Approval

Postby krnl on 12 Nov 2008, 11:28

All,

We are up to a total of 50 registrations here at fouledanchor.org for the HB-1344 Virginia CPO license plate. I have put a lot of effort into this, hoping to get the required 350 paid applications to be sent to the Virginia General Assembly in the Spring of 2009. I've emailed every CPO that I can find online. I've sent emails to newspapers and online news outlets. I've made many phone calls...I can't do it alone! :shipwrecked:

I NEED YOUR HELP! :sos:

We can succeed, but everyone needs to get the buzz going about the plates. Please email all of the CPO's - active and retired - who are in your email address book. Talk about the license plate within your own organizations. Bring it up during lunch in the Mess. :friends:

Many people who are interested in the plate have not yet registered. They keep forgetting or say that they'll do it tomorrow. Take the steps NOW and pay your $10 fee and fill out and mail the registration form. Don't put it on the back burner. There is a deadline which must be met!

Please continue to put the word out and remind our brothers and sisters about this very worthy effort.

Here are a couple of pertinent links:

Looks great. We need more than just 1 state. Whats the path to get additional states to follow suit?

Hi Jesse. :welcome: to the forum!

A couple of states already have such a license plate - Maryland is one of them. I think it would take a bit of reading on your state's DMV website and maybe a couple of phone calls to find out the procedures within your state. The DMV would be a good place to start. Ask them how to kick-off a new special license plate.

Regards,
Rick
